Store Closings - Act Fast!

Simply Modern Quilts in Show Low, AZ is going out of business on September 13, 2025. This is unfortunate for local quilters in the White Mountains to lose another fabric shop. They're running a 50% off inventory reduction sale from September 9-13, 2025. Get out and check to see if there's anything you need!

Quilters Haven Eager Quilt Shop is also closing later this year, so be sure to shop some of their closeout deals.

Summer Reflections: Garden to Table

Longarm quilting has been a little slow over the summer – but it left time for gardening and camping! Those of you in the local area know that I have a greenhouse and do a lot of plant starts every year for our garden. It has been wonderful to grow our own food and know what we are eating.

We've had a heavy harvest of cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, and watermelon. We've shared veggies with all the neighbors! I have started some fall peas and cauliflower, and I'm waiting for new seed to arrive to plant spinach and cabbage.

I've also revamped the entire greenhouse – put new flooring down, re-organized the growing tables, and just generally got everything ready again for the new season.

Summer Adventures & New Discoveries

It's been a great summer for camping with our travel trailer as well. We got to explore the Cottonwood, Arizona area this year. Naturally, I found a great quilt store: Quilters Quarter – fantastic store, well worth a visit if you're in the area!

🧵 Quilting News!

Longarm quilting is staying pretty steady with a two-week turnaround timeframe. Our local clients have been preparing their respective projects for the Navajo County Fair. I've had the pleasure of quilting a group of projects for fair entries.

Good luck to all fair entries! A group of ladies and I will be going to see the Navajo County Fair exhibits on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Inspiring Young Quilter

I know a young man who is working on his first queen-size bed quilt – it's going to be a beautiful dragon quilt! He's sewing it all himself with the assistance of his grandmother who is supervising the project. I think it will be a fair entry next year. How wonderful to see the next generation carrying on this beautiful craft!

Pick-up Deadline: December 12, 2025

The shop will be closed for a family Christmas trip after December 12th, so please plan accordingly. Don't wait until the last minute – Christmas always comes faster than we think!
